Technology Overview:

Novastron Corporation’s AquaGenicsTM Water Purification Technology comprises an innovative electrochemical process that efficiently achieves the complete extraction, or safe-level reduction, of all EPA regulated and non-regulated contaminants–with very few possible exceptions. Remarkably, this is accomplished for just over one penny per gallon in typical small drinking water systems, and without the use of salt brine solutions or the addition of harsh chemicals. Furthermore, both electrolytes and non-electrolytes may be effectively removed from solution, and all pathogenic microorganisms, i.e., bacteria, molds, fungi, and viruses, etc., are completely destroyed during treatment rendering almost any water purified, softened, pathogen free, pH balanced, and potable.

The basic principles of electrochemical water treatment have been known since Michael Faraday first discovered the laws governing electrolysis back in 1834. Although competing designs are somewhat effective in the removal of many EPA regulated contaminants, none are able to achieve drinking water standards, nor are they capable of recovering virtually all of their excess anodally liberated ions, metallic oxides, and colloids. Failure to remove these adscititious elements introduces serious environmental concerns and health hazards; consequently, competing designs have been restricted to the partial remediation of industrial and agricultural wastewater streams.

Only the proprietary patented processes, unique to AquaGenicsTM, enable an electrochemical water purification system to “clean-up after itself,” and inaugurate this revolutionary technology for the treatment of water that is thereby rendered safe for human consumption. Mother Nature has been utilizing the fundamental scientific principals employed by the AquaGenicsTM System to purify water from the beginning. In fact, water that has been purified by this simple process has taste and other properties in common with the purest of natural spring waters. As contaminated water runs through deep underground aquifers, it may occasionally come into direct contact with various conductive elements that constitute natural electrolytic cells; however, the natural EMF potentials involved are far to low to process the water as rapidly as may be achieved artificially. In theory, the more closely a natural system resembles the sequentially complimentary treatment cell array of an AquaGenicsTM Water Purifier the more coveted that fresh water source has been from an historical perspective.

Bottled water is big business with annual revenues in the United States towering over four billion dollars. A careful examination of these results reveals both the enormous potential of the AquaGenicsTM Water Purification Technology to render almost any water potable, and also discloses its current limitations. Waters heavily contaminated with alkali metals such as sodium or sodium salts may require either pre-treatments or follow-up treatments utilizing ancillary technology to completely purify the water. Sulfur content may be easily controlled by manipulating the retention time of the water being purified, or by simply configuring a double pass purification system. All of the other bio-essential elements still detectable in these reports are well below current EPA Standards, and are actually healthful at these levels. Current research has revealed that water that is devoid of healthy mineral content, such as distilled water, may actually promote bone demineralization!
Industrial Wastewater
A) Toxic industrial wastewater, having chemical properties as detailed above, before treatment using the AquaGenicsTM Electrochemical Water Purification Technology.

B) Wastewater following treatment, but before liquid-solid separation.

C) Purified and potable industrial wastewater having chemical properties as detailed above.

  • Provides a means to collect, purify, and utilize the hydrogen gas, liberated during treatment, as a recoverable source of energy.
  • May be scaled for use by a single individual, a small home or dwelling, or a large-scale municipal water treatment facility.
  • Operational energy requirements may be supplied or subsidized by renewable and/or alternative energy systems or technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells, solar energy, wind energy, etc.
  • May be automatically monitored and controlled by an artificially intelligent DACS.
  • Purifies water for just over one penny/gallon on average in typical small drinking water systems.
  • System pricing will be competitive with modern ion-exchange water softeners.
